The Horse & Groom is situated in East Ashling, a country village not far from the historic City of Chichester lying at the foot of the South Downs and just a short distance from the sea. Nearby are Chichester and Langstone harbours with a plethora of Marinas and Sailing Clubs. Just to the North is Kingley Vale with its Iron Age burial mounds and stunning views from Brighton in the East to Southampton in the West, the Isle of Wight and all of Portsmouth Harbour, including the Royal Navy Fleet when it is in port. To the South is historic Bosham where King Canute tried to hold back the tide, and the Saxon Church where his daughter is buried.
